Too often, we bite off more than we can chew. We reach deep down and tell ourselves, "I think I can! I think I can! I know I can! I know I can!" Sadly, nothing is farther from the truth. Biting off more than we can chew (taking on more than we can handle) is detrimental to us. We tell ourselves we are multitasking and that we are getting so much done. The truth is, multitasking can cause us to miss important things. A CNN report shows when we are multitasking we are actually not multitasking.
Life gets pretty crazy sometimes. As much as we want to admit that we are great at balancing our lives, there are times when (quite frankly) we fall just short of the goal. What we have to remember is that it is perfectly okay (that’s right, it’s okay!) to fall short sometimes. It happens. The key is to get back up and learn from it.
Balancing our lives is a challenge. We have goals we want to achieve; and, often, it always seems as though the closer we are to attaining those goals, the further away they become. This causes us to do the unthinkable – multitask! As much as we want to believe we are achieving more by multitasking, we in fact are not.
